A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Kia Ora team in a full-time groundskeeper role.
The role of groundskeeper involves maintaining Kia Ora’s extensive grounds, gardens and lawn areas.
The successful applicant will have a strong enthusiasm for gardening and be experienced in the use of machinery and maintenance equipment and have a fine eye for detail.
Skills and attributes that would be an advantage:
- Previous experience as a commercial gardener or qualifications in horticulture
- A good eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics
- The ability to troubleshoot issues concerning plant health and vitality
- Certification or good working knowledge in the safe application of chemicals such as herbicides and fertiliser
- Experience with and a good working knowledge of irrigation
- The ability to work efficiently in a team environment
- An up-to-date driver’s licence
The following attributes would hold the applicant in high regard but are not essential:
- Certificate in Horticulture, level 4 or above
- Certificate in Irrigation, level 3 or above
- Experience with chainsaws and the safe practice in operation
- Chemstart certification in the use of chemicals or equivalent
- Licence to operate Light Rigid vehicles or above
- Basic mechanical knowledge

Farm Hand/Groundskeeper, Full-time

An exciting opportunity to join the team in a full-time farm hand/groundskeeper role has become available.
This role involves maintaining Kia Ora’s extensive grounds, gardens and lawn areas as well as on-farm repairs such as fencing.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the agricultural or horticultural industries and be experienced in the use of machinery and maintenance equipment.
Ideal skills and attributes that would be an advantage:
- Previous experience in the agricultural or horticultural industry
- The ability to operate groundskeeping equipment such as, large zero-turn mowers, whipper snippers and hedgers
- Experience in rural fencing, including maintenance and repairs
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of stock water and irrigation systems
- A good working knowledge in the safe operation of chainsaws
- The physical ability to perform manual tasks in an outdoor working environment
- The ability to function efficiently in a team environment
- A current driver’s licence
Additional credentials that might help the applicant stand out but not essential:
- Certificate in Irrigation, level 3 or above
- Chemstart or equivalent accreditation in the use of chemicals
- Accredited Chainsaw licence
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Licence to operate vehicles Light Rigid or above
