After travelling in the box seat for most of the race Ravi 3yo filly (Redoute’s Choice x Mambo In Freeport) was produced three wide on the home turn to win impressively at her second start in a race.
Bred by Kia Ora Ravi was offered at the 2014 Inglis Easter yearling sale where she was passed in for $190,000 with a reserve of $200,000 on her.
Peter Snowden and jockey Tommy Berry made the below comments.
“She was good today, she was in a winning position the whole way,” Snowden told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
“She’s still a little bit of a light filly at the moment but did everything right today.
“We’ll see how she pulls up but I think there are better things to come with her later on.
“She’s stakes class all over, she works that well at home but she just needs to furnish and get a bit stronger.”
Rider Tommy Berry concurred with Snowden’s view.
“She’s still got a bit of maturing to do, she’s a bit on the narrow side but is quite tall,” Berry said.
Ravi has been spelled and will no doubt be a presence during the Autumn carnival.
